"To bid a job, use the window cleaning bidding book to estimate the number of hours it will take, then multiply that by your hourly rate and quote the result to the customer." http://www.detroitsponge.com/e-Course-u9.aspx

I have John Baxter's Book on the subject, "straight talk about window cleaning bidding" but I hav'nt come across anything about how many hours it will take to do x amount of windows, yet.

Am I missing something, or are we speaking of another book ?

Thanks

Here is something I got from an on line resource:

Our bidding for commercial work NOW IS A COMBINATION of a per window price, and the time it takes to complete the work. The time portion is based on forty dollars per hour, and we have broken it down into 5-minute increments for bidding jobs.

This timetable is detailed for you below:

        05 minutes = $4.00

        10 minutes = $7.00

        15 minutes = $10.00

        20 minutes = $13.00

        25 minutes = $16.00

        30 minutes = $20.00

        35 minutes = $23.00

        40 minutes = $26.00

        50 minutes = $33.00

        55 minutes = $36.00

        60 minutes = $40.00

Obviously, when you offer a bid you must estimate your time, but we find that this becomes relatively easy with experience.  As a new window washer you can begin with a per window price, and then try our timetable if you wish.

hope this helps,

clb
